The thing we forget is that not a whole lot is being said about a post through social media channels. What we do via social media is share *content* a priori. We do have opinions on what we more often then not, the act of sharing or resharing *is* the expression of our opinion.

As was the case with the request to bring back time stamps on posts, we listened and acted at Search Engine People because in the end, the conversation, the community, was and is more important to us than the slight “technical” benefits we could receive from folding back various online mentions.

At the moment, I don't use any Twitter integration in comments – I prefer old style comments :)
