Hey Ruud, thanks for dropping by! Engaging with SEP, yourself and Jeff is always a pleasure. I agree that the social part of social media **may** be moving away from blogs. I'll be doing a post next week on the engagement part of blogging it's rather interesting. I also love it when I get a chance to show off some good Canadian Talent. Sorry for the slow response... not used to managing comments from thise side. ;-)

Backtype has a nice sidebar setup to show what's being said about a post. It's almost where Google might have gotten its Side Wiki idea.

The thing we forget is that not a whole lot is being said about a post through social media channels. What we do via social media is share *content* a priori. We do have opinions on what we more often then not, the act of sharing or resharing *is* the expression of our opinion.

As was the case with the request to bring back time stamps on posts, we listened and acted at Search Engine People because in the end, the conversation, the community, was and is more important to us than the slight "technical" benefits we could receive from folding back various online mentions.

Thanks for mentioning us Terry -- and thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious to us back then!
