TV is dying – broadcasting the new media model

TV is dying broadcasting the new media modelLeo Laporte began “This Week in Tech” and “TwiT” network of podcasts talks quite frankly in front of the Online News Association with an explanation of his experiences and business model targeted at niche and dedicated markets rather than the old model of vast, unassuming and uninterested groups.  Sound familiar? Very revealing and well worth the 40 minutes to watch.

He points out that we have and currently are involved in a communication revolution that historically has been experienced and proven and occurred before, from the ancient days of hand written scrolls to the creation of moveable type and the printing press though radio, TV and now the interactive methods of the internet. The most interesting point was that he’s not claiming that these new media will destory newspapers or tv and radio but rather will change the way they work in the most fundamental manner.

Take the time to watch it.
