Archived; click post to view.
Excerpt: (ByronShell) Copywriters have a big job to do. They need to write content that brings in traffic using the right words and keep your site at the top of the search results (SEO), but it also needs to convince web visitors to follow your call to action. This often leaves site owners with a conundrum: Do they post SEO content and make sure their site is found? Or do they post good content and forget about all that SEO mumbo jumbo stuff? You want to know the secret? Both. It is literally impossible to write good content without some SEO keywords…

Archived; click post to view.
Excerpt: Rich snippets make a lot of sense and the new Google rich snippets have vastly improved what was served in the past. The really cool part is the rich snippet may even use a microformat if the webmaster has implemented them. IMO, a technique worth consideration is to force Google to use the snippet. My thinking is Google have matched the snippet to the query so… I’m thinking it looks pretty relevant and “clickable” to the user. Another bit of information I gleaned from the video was how the extra computing power which Caffiiene brings to the table could/is to be used to add features like ”rich snippets” indicating a possible rollout of…

Archived; click post to view.
Excerpt: Whitehat Automation is a term that, depending on who you’re talking to, shouldn’t exist. To some whitehat is doing everything manually. To others it is staying within the guidelines set forth by the almighty Google. The real question is: where is the line drawn and what can you do/not do? Everyone will have a different answer and view points regarding this question, and especially how it’s done. Before I go any further I’d like to say that by ‘automation’ I’m saying scripts and programs, not outsourcing to other individuals. So, with that in mind I give you … whitehat automation! [caption…

A few hours later I got a chance and had a gander at the video below. Watch it because it gives you a great overview of the Google Commerce API at work! To start this post I pose this question: after reading a post if your visitor leaves a tweet instead of a comment has the goal above been achieved? The other day, Shaun over at Hobo Web posted a great piece on his feeling that the “linkerati” are linking less with more discretion and how twitter is affecting comments on blogs. It was that post that started me on the path to considering the ramifications of adding twitter to comments of blogs. I had been noticing less engagement…

Archived; click post to view.
Excerpt: Seems Mr. Obama’s socialization of healthcare and banks has the search engines joining the fray. Thursday my Tweetdeck was lit up with the buzz of deals between Twitter and Bing and Google. Bing also signed a deal with the monstrous Facebook Social Networking mega site. These social networks will be sharing their feeds with these search behemoths’. Not unlike Mr. Obama’s tentative foray into social medicine and banking, the major search engine, that’d be Google, the lesser Bing, who it seems has jumped in the deep end, only to find, it is actually the shallow end of the twitter pool. I’ll explain…

Remember the end user One of the most important, and probably most overlooked parts of search engine optimisation is the actual users you are trying to reach so its healthy to take a minute and reflect on how they…

These basic, every day articles are found in places like Ezine Articles, Article Base, and hundreds of others. They are the everyday write-ups such as ‘how to choose a dentist’ or…
